PASTOR JOHN COLLINS REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: "I HEARD....."

Image
Add caption I heard..... From Pastor John Collins on Heaven’s Country (8.2.20): "I went through the archive for Pastor John Collins Marty Smith, and do you know how many times in the last six years we talked about gossip? 24.  You know why? Kinda like last week when we talked about the old pastor doing John 3:16 over and over its because people aren’t catching it. "I think that one of the worst things any human being can do to another is to either be a gossip, a slanderer, or a busybody. I’ve said this, and I don’t know how more plain I can be by saying this,  if the audience again they’re not going to like my language “if you don’t have anything nice to say about somebody that can build them up, shut up, because you’re only doing Satan’s work by putting them down and keeping them down.” Proverbs 21:23 (ESV):  “whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble” .....But not so much that it keeps himself out of trouble in the eyes of God, but you m...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: THE SKINNY, 411, IG.....GOSSIP

From John Collins Ministries:  “And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.” 1 Timothy 5:13 (NKJV). “But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.” 2 Timothy 2:16 (NKJV). “Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse; He who guards his soul will be far from them.”  Proverbs 22:5 (NKJV). I heard it through the grapevine, word on the street is, rumor has it, have you heard, what’s the latest, give me the scoop, the skinny, the 411, the juicy news, the dirt, good old fashioned gossip…the conversations we all live for, right?  There are magazines, TV shows, reality shows, locker rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, cafeterias, basements, bathrooms, internet sites, cell phones all devoted to spreading the news of the actions of others, whether famous or not.  We do it ourselves.  We are a world that t...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: LAZY FAITH

From John Collins Ministries: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV). It is time for a serious reality check for every single person living on earth at this time: You are going to die an earthly death and will have to face the righteous judgment of God. You may think you know what that means, you may not care but let me fill in the blanks for so many….whether you choose to believe in God or not, whether you find God fair or not, whether you agree with God or not, whether you end up dismissing God or not, whether you reject God or not and whether you end up getting as angry at God as you want and as defiant toward God as you want and you can ignore Him, disobey Him and reject His Son but in the end, ALL will come before the judgment seat of Christ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: IN THE NAME OF THE DEAD

Image
From John Collins Ministries: "And when they say to you, ‘Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,’ should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?” Isaiah 8:19 (NKJV). “Jesus said to them, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 (NKJV). Have you ever heard someone say that they are praying to their dead grandmother for strength? It is not only a Catholic thing but it is a complete disconnect in a persons' faith and disobedience to God that leads people to reach out in prayer to their dead relatives, to the ‘saints’ of the church and especially to Mary the mother of Jesus Christ. Let me be very clear, Mary, the mother of Jesus is NOT the mediator of your faith and to pray to her is the same as praying to any other dead person. Jesus Christ is the way to get to the Father and it is through Him that you must pray. You have been given a mediator in ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: OUR PROMISE

From John Collins Ministries: “For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: ‘For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back,  My soul has no pleasure in him.’ But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:36-39 (NKJV). A life is only worth living if the soul is saved, otherwise it is a tragedy no matter how well that life was lived. A life must achieve salvation in order to produce worth. A person can grow up brilliant, become a scientist and cure a disease, become a surgeon and save lives, become a soldier and fight for freedom, become a teacher and pass along knowledge to so many, become any number of things that enhances the lives of those living on this planet and still fail. If you don’t make it to heaven, you fail. No matter the success, accomplis...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS

From John Collins Ministries:   "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 (NKJV). “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.” Luke 2:40 (NKJV).   Jesus came to be our Savior, to teach us and to die for us. As you go through life, you are to look to Jesus to care for you, to guide you and to strengthen you. The human spirit is strong and can withstand more than you could ever imagine. Jesus is strong in spirit and knows your weaknesses. He knows what scares you, what intimidates you and what you avoid. Jesus is there to help you face your fears and conquer what you thought you couldn’t. Jesus will listen to you and will help you.   Faith in the Lord allows your spirit to have courage. Hope in the Lord allows your spirit the freedom from worry and that confidence allows you to serve the Lord honestly. The human spirit is capable o...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: OFFENDING JESUS

Image
From John Collins Ministries: “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’” Psalm 110:1 (NKJV). “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21 (NKJV). Most people like to think of the truly evil as the enemies of Jesus. Most people would see themselves and their loved ones as loved by Jesus and part of the kingdom of God. Most people see themselves as good people and deserving of going to heaven. Most people are in denial about the perfect and righteous judgement of God. What would you do if Jesus told you personally that you are His enemy? How would you feel if Jesus let you know that you had offended Him and you were not in His good graces? Can you imagine such a thing? What would you do to change that if it were true? What would be the circumstances that would make that true? Would it be true if you were a liar, a whore, a manipula...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: NO WISH LIST

From John Collins Ministries: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:5-7 (NKJV). There has been many a preacher to make a pretty penny with these words and to guide many a soul in the wrong direction. Jesus is not on stand-by to do our bidding and God is not waiting to fulfill our wish lists. Jesus could easily say to His disciples and apostles these words because they all understood that once you truly belong to Jesus and believe in the gospel and the power of the Cross, you would not ask amiss. Jesus knows that those that have obtained righteousness will ask those things that the bible instructs and that God approves of. W...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: LOST IN VIOLENCE

From John Collins Ministries: “The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates. Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.” Psalm 11:5-6 (NKJV). Does anyone take notice of the violence in our children’s video games, the violence in movies and the violence in our streets? Violence is entertainment and violence is a way of life. People want to say that guns are at fault, others want to blame the parents, or the schools, or the gangs, or the mob, or the terrorists, or the government and of course they want to blame God. People don’t value life. People take life for granted, become embittered, nurture hatred and ponder violence and then act on it. People don’t care about consequences. People don’t want to hear about the judgment of God. People have lost their way. Life is precious and can be good. Life matters and God wants each of you to value life and to seek t...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: THANKSGIVING

Image
As we pray for those without food and those without shelter today, let us also praise God for His mercy and thank God for His precious Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. John Collins, Evangelist, John Collins Ministries From John Collins Ministries: “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NKJV). People think of these words and think of communion to be taken in church. Before there were Christian churches the apostles gathered in the homes of their fel...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: WISDOM

Image
From John Collins Ministries:  “Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors; ‘To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men. O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.’” Proverbs 8:1-5 (NKJV). There is a big difference between biblical knowledge and biblical wisdom . There are many people out there that can quote the Bible because they have memorized certain passages that further their points of view. There are many preachers out there that can speak with seemingly great amounts of biblical knowledge but the really smart person is a person that knows how to take that biblical knowledge and apply it to their lives and show that they have obtained wisdom . Just knowing what God has said and what Jesus has said will do...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: PAYBACK

Image
From John Collins Ministries: “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. Therefore ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:19-21 (NKJV). I am sure that there are many people who would like to do this but are unable . It is very hard when you are hurt , insulted or mistreated by someone you just want to fight back and get even . It feels good to add insult to injury to someone whom you feel deserves it . It is easy to treat your enemy with utter disrespect and contempt . Who says that they are your enemy though? What drives people to group up together to hate another group whether it’s nationally, internationally, in school, at work, or even in our own families? It is not what God wants from us and it is ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: SAMUEL-HISTORY REPEATS

From John Collins Ministries: When Samuel was old the people of Israel asked for a king to lead them. They were told that in doing so they would be rejecting God . They insisted on being given a king . God allowed them to have their way in this folly but sent thunder and rain to show them their wickedness . “And all the people said to Samuel, ‘Pray for your servants to the Lord your God, that we may not die; for we have added to all our sins the evil of asking a king for ourselves.’ Then Samuel said to the people, ‘Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.” 1 Samuel 12:19-20 (NKJV). We are sinners . That is a fact . Sometimes we get caught up in our sin and find it hard to turn to the Lord . Some have yet to ever accept the Lord . Some may find it difficult to quit doing what they are doing although they know that it is wrong . I will say that it is harder to tu...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: EGO

Image
There will never be a place in heaven for someone filled with arrogance, entitlement, and self-grandeur John Collins, Evangelist, John Collins Ministries From John Collins Ministries: “What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?” Romans 9:22-24 (NKJV). What does the world owe you? What do your parents owe you? Does your wife or husband deserve you? Does your boss know how lucky they are to have you? Do your children realize how blessed they are to have you as a parent ? Have you gotten your due? Does the world recognize your greatness , your beauty, your special something that makes it better? Doesn’t everyone around you acknowledge that even God has chosen you to bless...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: PURSUING PEACE

Image
Pursue peace.  Choose to weed out seeds that cause us to sin. Pastor John Collins, John Collins Ministries From John Collins Ministries: “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.” Hebrews 12:14-15 (NKJV). Bitterness is something that we must be on guard against and we must have complete honesty with ourselves if we are to monitor our hearts so that we can repent if we find ourselves gone astray . Bitterness will creep up on you and it is easy to allow it to happen. We like to think of ourselves as deserving the best and we become very offended when others hurt us, reject us and when we perceive that we have not received our ‘due’. We must be careful to find the balance of self-worth and humility . Sometimes people just don’t think things through wi...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: SOME GIVE ALL

Image
From John Collins Ministries: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 (NKJV). Jesus  spoke these words to prepare His  apostles  for His crucifixion.  Jesus  made the ultimate  sacrifice  for us. Many may not expect to encounter a  situation  where this is a possibility here in  America . Yet, there are soldiers that encounter this situation and face the possibility of  death  side by side there fellow  soldiers  every day while  fighting battles  for their country. There has been many wars that  America  has fought in and many men who have died. There is not a choice for a  soldier  to go to fight for their country;  they just do . Most of those men will tell you that they  fight  for the men at their side. They  face death  with  courage  and  heroism  for  love ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REDEEMING THE GOSPEL: CHOOSING HELL

Image
From John Collins Ministries: Teaching our children to know about Jesus and God begins at home.   No school can do it for us.   Satan has woven his lies to keep children from knowing that Jesus is there to help them, to care for them, and to protect them.   A few generations back, God was taken out of school because He was an offense to someone, and Christians stood by and allowed it.   In addition,   because those generations didn’t like hearing the truth, the fact of hell and its consequences was removed. (Pastor John Collins, 2018). “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Matth...
